Finnish Safety and Chemicals Agency (Tukes)

2014

A key goal of the project was to use space more efficiently and thereby achieve substantial savings in lease costs, while also committing the management and personnel to the change and promoting occupational well-being. During the project period, the organisation’s requirements (functional and space-related) were studied with the help of various workshops, interviews, surveys and observation rounds. Based on the studies, a tailored multispace office was selected as the solution for Tukes’ future working environment. When concepts had been generated for the premises, they were applied to the designs for Tukes’ offices in Helsinki and Tampere. During the interior design process, users were included in the design of the premises through votes and surveys. Efforts were made to create a space arrangement that was as flexible as possible and aligned with future needs.
