Scandic Helsinki Airport

2018

A hotel will be built on the site of former offices in the airport’s operations centre in 2017 and 2018. Scandic Helsinki Airport will be a hotel located near the terminals offering all modern conveniences for business travellers as well as holidaymakers. The hotel’s speciality is its unique meeting facilities, with interiors that also take account of the building’s history. Part of the hotel has been built on restored former police premises. The history of this section of the building has been preserved: three small meeting rooms will be created in former cells. The hotel’s reception and à la carte restaurant will be located in a light atrium in the centre of the building. The new 150-room hotel will open its doors in March 2018. The interior was designed by an interior architect Bronwynn Welsh from the Doos Architects bureau
